Semroc has been a big supporter of TARC over the years. We encourage any Middle to High School youngster to get involved.
TARC is jointly sponsored by
the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the National Association of
Rocketry (NAR). TARC is the largest national rocket contest for high school and middle school
age students in the United States. The contest was originally conceived as a
one-time event to commemorate the centennial of flight. It has been so
successful and has garnered such a wide base of support from the aerospace
industry that is now an annual event.
Since the first year, hundreds of schools and youth
organizations and thousands of youth have participated. Each year the design
goals change to keep the event fresh and present new challenges to returning
teams. The challenge for each year is fully described in the
TARC Team Rules.
TARC is open to schools and other recognized youth
organizations with contestants enrolled in the seventh through twelfth
Semroc has had been involved with TARC since its beginning. We have served as Pad Manager (the late Carl McLawhorn) for
seven years, Timer (Bruce
McLawhorn) for five years, Randy Boadway for one year and also have served as mentors and observers
for many local teams. Semroc has provided many of
the parts used by teams over the years and we have always provided generous
discounts to TARC teams.
If you are an educator or youth leader and are not signed up
for TARC, we highly recommend it. In addition to the financial benefits for the
winning teams, the team building and real science experience makes every
participant a winner. The excitement of the event at Great Meadows will be a
highlight of your youths' lives, should they make the final cut. As one of the
very proud industry sponsors told me a few years ago, "Our future employees
are at this event!"
If you are still not sure or just have more questions, email
us at eRockets@rocketmail.com or call us at

experience pleasurable. For local teams, we provide support, mentoring, and are
glad to observe as many flights as we can. Join
NARTARC for the latest
information and discussions.
We can not provide custom parts, but we are adding new
parts all the time to our on-line catalog. If you don't see something you need
online, ask about it. Most
of our new products are requested by our customers. Our goal is to have the most
extensive catalog of model rocket parts that has ever been assembled under one
roof for same day shipping.
Everything we sell is backed by our 100% Satisfaction
